TELES creates a Secret Service for Mobile Phoning

The Major Release for the Application Server transforms your mobile number into a genuine secret number:the mobile number is no longer essential to ensure you’re available everywhere and at any time.

Berlin, November 21, 2013. TELES has created a completely new software architecture for the Application Server. The Release 5.0 provides a wide range of new functions for the Application Server, ensuring even more convenience for the user. "Users will be particularly inspired by the improved Single-Number concept", says Oliver Olbrich, Chief Operating Officer at TELES. "The Single-Number means that the subscriber is available at all times on just one phone number – no matter where he is, whether in the office, traveling or at home", Olbrich adds.

This is facilitated by a new feature which enables individual control of terminals, the so-called Device Routing. A phone number is no longer linked to just one terminal – the allocation of phone numbers to one terminal is defined individually. It is therefore possible for the user himself to define whether a call be accepted via the mobile phone or a stationary telephone. Subscribers are therefore available on one number – irrespective of where they are – and all terminals signal the same number on which the subscriber is available.

Time to make mobile communication more exclusive

This has two specific advantages: "The mobile phone becomes a fully-fledged extension with all the convenience functions available on the fixed line network." Single Number also means that contacts are only given the fixed line number. "That is sufficient to be available for callers. The mobile number remains reserved for exclusive contacts. Who wants to be available for everyone at all times?"

The new service is based on a flexible number configuration of subscriber terminals. In future, the mobile phone, fixed line phone and also the PC at the office or at home can be included in the telephone system as fully-fledged terminals. The telephone system then supports all known features and number concepts, irrespective of the terminal selected. The number displayed and the terminal used to accept the call – this can be individually defined and re-defined by the administrator and adjusted to the respective situation.

TELES Solution compatible to 3rd party peripherals

In addition to the enhancements specified, provisioning has also been modernized to allow customers easier integration of peripheral systems. Authentication for web access and SIP registration have also been separated to prevent hostile takeovers and improper transfer of access data by end customers.
